By which I mean, Crunch could assemble a team better than Kevin McHale, and probably would not need to end up coaching. We even lost to the KINGS this year.

I get what you mean, and agree. I know this will never happen, but I really think Simmons would be a great GM. I think the biggest weakness he would have would not being part of the "old boys network". I think he would get shut out by some GM's because he wasn't one of them.
